The Disadvantaged Groups Cell of Shambhunath Mahavidyalaya, Tinhari, Parsupur, Mau is established to promote equality, social inclusion, and equal opportunities for all students, particularly those belonging to socially and economically disadvantaged sections of society. The Cell works towards creating a supportive, respectful, and discrimination-free academic environment for every student.
The Cell provides guidance and assistance to students regarding various government scholarships, educational benefits, reservations, and welfare schemes available for eligible students. It also helps students understand their rights and encourages them to avail themselves of opportunities for higher education and overall development.
The Cell organizes awareness programmes, counselling sessions, and other activities to promote social harmony, equality, and sensitivity towards disadvantaged groups. It encourages students to participate actively in academic, cultural, sports, and extracurricular activities without any discrimination based on caste, gender, economic status, or social background.
The Disadvantaged Groups Cell also coordinates with the college administration to identify genuine difficulties faced by students and make appropriate recommendations for their welfare.
